As part of GambleAware Week 2026, we will be hosting a community information stall at Blacktown Workers Club across three days. The stall will provide patrons, community members, and venue staff with information about gambling harm, safer gambling practices, and the free and confidential support services available through GambleAware.

Attendees will have the opportunity to speak with GambleAware staff, access educational resources, and learn about counselling, financial counselling, and peer support services available to individuals and families affected by gambling harm. Promotional resources and engagement activities will be available throughout the event to encourage conversations about gambling harm and help-seeking.

The event aims to raise awareness of gambling harm, reduce stigma, promote early intervention, and increase community knowledge of available support services. The information stall will also strengthen the ongoing partnership between GambleAware and Blacktown Workers Club in supporting responsible gambling and community wellbeing.

As part of GambleAware Week, GambleAware Hunter will host an online SMART Recovery Taster Session, providing participants with an introduction to the gambling specific SMART Recovery program and its practical tools for managing unwanted behaviours.

The session will explore the SMART Recovery approach, including strategies for building motivation, managing urges, coping with challenging thoughts and emotions, and creating a balanced lifestyle. Participants will have the opportunity to experience the supportive group format, learn about the benefits of ongoing participation, and ask questions in a safe and welcoming online environment.

This free session is open to anyone interested in learning more about SMART Recovery and the support available for people seeking positive behaviour change.
